The ancient Tindari with Greek amphitheater

The excavation site near Tindari (Tyndaris) with a Greek amphitheater from the 4th century is nowadays a place for concerts, theater performances and festivals.

The excavations were started in 1812. Since then, a part of the ancient Tindari has been uncovered. A museum shows the history of these wonderful and unique finds. Among other things, you will find the remains of the city wall, a basilica, an antiquarian, and the Greek amphitheater of Tindari (Tyndaris) in this archaeological area.

This destination on the north coast of Sicily is well worth a visit as it is a breathtaking vantage point with a fantastic view of the Aeolian Islands, the Sanctuary of Tindari and the nature reserve Laghetti di Marinello.
