Acireale is one of the bigger towns at the Eastern coast and famous for its thermal springs and many baroque styled houses. Besides Sciacca Acireale is the stronghold of carnival in Sicily and is regarded as the native town of puppet play.

The seaside resort Acireale-Stazzo (500 inhabitants) is situated directly at the beach and part of the small town Acireale (52.000 inhabitants). It is 7km to go there. For the daily needs everything is available and reachable within minutes. Thanks to the wellness services the place is attractive for tourists throughout the whole year.

The main event each year however is the carnival.

Two weeks from end of January till beginning of February it is celebrated by presenting carnival processions and parades in the old town.
